Dear Wolhurst Food Bank Clients
Over the last 3 months, Faith Mission on Wheels (FMOW) has been looking into how to make the Wolhurst Food Bank a better experience. We have been looking at all aspects of the operation and have settled on some changes to the program. Starting in January FMOW will be adopting the following changes in hopes to make this operation more functional. These changes are necessary for the operation of the Food Bank and our accountably to Food Bank of the Rockies.
Those who wish to volunteer need to contact Bob or Dee Shinn @303-993-6738 NO LATER THAN THE WEDNESDAY BEFORE THE FOOD BANK SATURDAY. Only those who have signed up to volunteer will be allowed in the food bank room. They should report there by 11:00 AM the morning of the food bank.
Volunteers that are signed up to receive food. Will be given time between the end of set up and 12:30 PM to get their food and remove it from the community building. Please do not ask why these people get to go first! DURING THIS TIME ALL THESE CHANGES WILL APPLY.
Sign in will begin at 1:00 PM for those not Volunteering. Please if you have not signed up to volunteer DO NOT arrive before 12:45 PM, SIGN IN STARTS AT 1:00 PM. It is hard enough for our volunteers to unload and set up without having to work around those waiting and asking questions. PLEASE RESPECT THE WORK THE VOLUNTEERS ARE DOING FOR YOU!
Deliveries, Those that have been put on the delivery list, Will be called at the phone number they have provided between 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM on the food bank day. This assures us that you will be home for delivery. If you DO NOT answer when called YOU WILL NOT GET A DELIVERY! The volunteers will box up and deliver your food between 12:15 PM and 1:00 PM. RECIPENTS THAT DO NOT ANSWER THEIR DOOR WHEN THE DELIVERY IS MADE WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE DELIVERY LIST. The delivery will be returned to the food bank and restocked for redistribution.
We will no longer allow multiple pickups. If you are picking up for someone else and yourself. You will need to sign in for yourself, Tell the volunteer doing the sign in who you are picking up for and sign in for that person, One of our volunteers will go thru the line for the second person. There will be volunteers to help you load your vehicle. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS!
We must insist that after you receive your food, That you remove your boxes/bags of food from the community building. Again Volunteers will be able to help you load. This is for the continued safety of clients and volunteers alike. SHOULD WE FIND A BOX/BAG OF FOOD LEFT BEHIND. WE WILL RETURN IT TO OUR STOCK for redistribution.
If you come to the food bank, Than we expect you should be able to take your food home! WE ARE NOT A DELIVERY SERVICE! Should you not be able to take your food home please make arrangements to have someone get your food home for you! DELIVERIES WILL ONLY BE MADE TO THOSE ON OUR DELIVERY LIST. Only those with qualifying disabilities will be put on our delivery list. (there are a limited number of spots on our delivery list and at this time it is full.)
All the Volunteers and Faith Mission on Wheels want to make this a good experience for you. We all work very hard to put this together each month. I have heard negative comments regarding the operation Please leave those comments at home! If you think you have a better idea about our operation or on these proposed changes, Feel free to contact Bob Shinn at 303-993-6738 or faithmissiononwheels@yahoo.com Sincerely, Bob Shinn, CEO.
